Family fun at Tampines Ikea and Giant hypermarket

It's always a pleasure going to Ikea Tampines and afterwards Giant hypermarket or the Courts Megastore(all located within the same cluster with free shuttle buses running to/from Tampines, Bedok and Snegkang). Ikea has become our family's favourite place on weekdays during off-peak hours (eg. Mondays 10am - 12pm). My son loves the ice cream (with cone) and the lights department. Brunch cost only S$10 (continental breakfast, spinach/cheese pancakes and chicken wings). It's also never boring walking through the store as we love looking at various merchandise and the displays.

The As-Is corner at Ikea promises great bargains, especially if you can get display items at a large % off the original price, especially bed linen. We change our bed linen every few days and so I often look out for durable and/or inexpensive pillow cases and quilt overs to go with our plain fitted sheets. Just a few weeks ago before the Chinese New Year season I found a lovely quilt cover to use as a sofa throwover for S$10 (read this post to find out why I'm always in need of extra bedlinen).

Today's finds?
2 pillow cases, a kid's quilt cover and kid's pillow case. Where else can you get good-looking bedlinen for all at S$12.00?! Also bought a tub of Pyssla coloured beads and holding plates for future play/use since the kid is into threading/arranging small items.

.
2 standard pillow cases (S$3 each)

Kid's quilt cover + pillow (S$5 and $1)

Pyssla set (S$3 and S$9.90)
.
Going to Giant hypermarket after Ikea was just as rewarding because I badly needed to re-stock vegetables for the next few meals.

Asparagus (Dole)
Kai lan stem
Di wang vegetable
Spring onion
Dried seafood items (oysters, large ikan bilis and shrimps)
TOTAL: under S$9.00
.
So much fun and relevant shopping for under S$45:)
Light meal for 3: S$10
As-Is bedlinen: S$12
Pyssla items: S$3 + S$9.90
Groceries: S$9

.
Where: Tampines North Drive 2 (Courts megastore, Giant hypermarket and Ikea)
Buses: 27, 34, 58, 168 (public buses) or free shuttle services (Bedok, Sengkang and Tampines)
