Thanks, we know our shoe-sizes well enough!

Another one of those staff who think they know best... We've worn Crocs for nearly half a decade now and as adults, our feet have remained very much at the same shape/size.

One of the reasons we've been fans of Crocs is because
(1) they are weather-proof
(2) the material doesn't cause blistering
(3) comfort
(4) lightweight
(5) variety of styles/colours

Well it's time to replace a few of our Crocs due to worn out soles and so we went to one of their stores which was located at Vivo City. Here's what happened:

M = mumusings
S = sales staff

M: Would you have a pair of Men's 12 for this design?
S: Yes we have but he (my husband) can try Size 9 first.
M: No thanks, we're very sure of the size because he's been wearing 12. Do you have a pair of them?
S: Huh? How can he be size 12? At most 9 or 10. You try first and then I go find if I have 12.
M: I've said, he's a size 12. 10 is not right.
S: I can tell - 12 cannot lah - too big!

At this juncture, my husband literally shoved his feet into the Size 9 she recommended. STILL, the lady insisted, "okay, too small, but still not size 12.."

After 10 minutes of no-this-that, she finally went to check the store and came back saying, "We don't have Size 12. Sorry."

Absolute waste of time dealing with sales people like that!

(1) How on EARTH did she assume that she knows customer's feet better?
(2) Why can't the staff just focus on the customer's request (to simply check stock - period.)?

Anyway, I remember the middle-aged lady's face and accent. Just won't step into Crocs at Vivo City if she's on duty. Don't want to waste 10  minutes just for a stranger to decide on shoe-sizing for us. It's no wonder more of my friends are turning to online shopping - at least, one doesn't have to put up with terrible sales people!
