Holiday wishes

Given a choice, I'd rather travel the world via rail than plane. Closer to the ground and hence safer. Having been on the Eurostar before, I was most impressed by the speed (300 kilometers per hour - like a Formula One car at near-maximum speed) and stability of the train.

We came across this lovely brochure at PriceBreaker which details the Eurail ticket prices, routes and recommended sight-seeing spots across the European continent.

Before I could even turn the page, my son promptly snatched the brochure away to ooh-and-ahh over the pictures of the high-speed trains. "Spencer!" (the silver train in Thomas and Friends series). Spencer, is officially my son's nomenclature for trains that are modern-looking, silver and/or high-speed.

I finally got down to reading the Eurail brochure proper one night. I must be really missing travelling - found myself calculating costs, comparing various passes (one or two months? fat wish!) and mentally planning routes. I know I shall be very content just to have a short holiday to anywhere in reality.

Meanwhile, I shall continue with my Caesar-ambitious daydreaming of conquering...
