Home mumusings #10: No-brand utensils work just as well!

.
I have learnt that it’s not the brands behind the oven and utensils that make a great dish or pastry. Proportion, timing, nimble fingers and common-sense are far more important than owning a Martha Steward kitchen.

For some reason, I always enjoy watching Rachel Ray and Jamie Oliver more than any other 'famous chefs'. It’s the fuss-free, easy-going and modern kitchen manoevres I can relate with.

Anyway, for simple baking AND to reduce wastage of paper cups and disposable plastics, I bought a few sets of silicon cups from Daiso (S$2 .00 for a pair of baking silicon cups). They are easy to wash (after devouring the contents) and dry quickly.

Also cheap and good from Daiso are: mixing bowl (S$2.00) and egg-beater (S$2.00). I practically use both for all sorts of mixing. The bowl is excellent as a salad bowl too!
